Ipatia's ChoiceLipsi’s Daughter gives us a picture of what life in Greece was like at the end of the 20th century for a girl raised in a family with conservative values. Ipatia conforms to the expectations of society without rebellion—except that she wants to go to the university even though her grandfather and relatives want her to get married immediately after high school and have children.Readers of this 2014 novel who have read the 2015 Helena’s Choice will be familiar with some of its theme

Having written this novel and shared it with family and friends, I can only say that I have enjoyed writing it as well as reading it. I wanted to capture the Greek culture and transport the reader to another world where people have the same problems and issues as we do. This is an orphaned girl's coming of age story, where she leaves the Greek isle of Lipsi to get a college education and in the process falls in love with a wealthy shipowner's son.
