3.5 starsI loved the premise to this and I was eager to get started.I really liked Katherine. She's not made of the same things the regency women are and it was amusing to see her maneuver around in English society. There are a few other secondary characters, but it felt like we only got to see the surface of them. It was a very effective way to show Katherine's feeling of isolation.There were a couple of twists that I didn't see coming and a satisfying ending. Overall, a quick, enjoyable read.*

I ordered this book because of the period it's set in. The early 1800s are one of my favourite historical periods to read about, especially when set in England. I had seen some negative reviews, but still wanted to read it, to see what I thought.
