A child's A-Z of Caribbean items! ♥♥♥ Do you come from the Caribbean or Guyana? Would you like to teach your preschool/nursery-age son or daughter their ABC using items from 'back home'? With Granny JJ's Caribbean A-Z you can teach your child their letters and share some of your life and culture from the comfort of your living room. Some of our children grew up there, and we decided that ABC didn't need to be APPLE. BEACH BALL, and CAT!So, we’ve picked 26 features of Caribbean life so that you can teach your little one using objects you grew up around. There’s so much space for fun, and laughter to create Attention, Bonding and Culture! Includes:26 colourful island picture-items which creates an ABC of Attention, Bonding and Cuddles!3 x Colouring pages ***PLEASE NOTE THIS DISPLAYS BEST ON A COLOUR TABLET***I don't know about you but we have found that your excitement and stories will enchant them.A is not always for Apple! For example, yes, A is for ANT. But those red ants bite, right? And I’m sure you’ve woken up in your bed once or twice with dead ones that bit you before you rolled on them. How often have you bought Water coconuts from the side of the road, seen the man slice it with a cutlass, and pop in a straw. Ohhhh! So fresh, cool and delicious on a hot day! Z is for Zinc: the sound of the rain on the zinc was deafening, but it could put you to sleep at night! Older children who hear will want to hear your stories – “Mum, the ants come into your bed? Really?”“You drank from a coconut?”Pop over to Youtube and play them the sounds of rain on a zinc roof. We put our little one to bed with that sometimes! And Granny JJ? She's a smart, sassy, and spiritual Granny who goes around the towns and villages solving mysteries in Guyana. But she always has time for her grandpicknies! You can see her four adventure books (for 11+) if you search Amazon under 'Granny JJ Adventures'. This year the Guyanese Govenrment thought they were so good, they bought hundreds for the children over there. So, please enjoy these brightly coloured Caribbean items, and leave a review to help others decide to buy.Scroll up, press buy, and we'll get it shipped to you (but not in a drum this time!)Joshua and Glenda
Great bookLoved the way the kids could learn their ABCs and the beautiful illustrations to go along with it. The intro for Granny JJ was great and if read with parents then is easier to understand. It is read in the tone of the Caribbean and is beautiful, but can be hard to understand if you aren't from there. I think it's wonderful to expose your children to different dialects and such and this would be one of the ones perfectly suited for parents to help guide their little readers.
love diversity! My niece and nephew love this book. They couldn’t always understand what was being said but that’s okay because they understood the pages with the alphabet. This book is also good because it isn’t the typical abc’s it has less common words and the words are related to the Carribean culture.
Great alphabet fun!I enjoyed reading Granny JJ’s Caribbean A-Z. This book is different from the usual ABC’s. The author lets you know that there are more words that start with A than alligator.
