An engaging YA fantasy This is a fine story of how a beast terrorized a kingdom killing the main protagonist, Nina's father. Nina braves to confront the beast to avenge her father's death. My favorite character after Nina was Tomas. Despite his disability, he was kind, daring, and a good friend to Nina. Writing style is simplistic and would certainly appeal to anyone, especially the young readers. I liked the pacing and flow of the narrative that kept the feel of the horror element superbly. I w
Good YA fantasy I read this so quickly and then realised I hadn't wanted it to stop! Which means it was good and gripping.A lot of descriptions in the settlement and castle lifestyle which I enjoyed.At one stage I thought it was turning just a touch too dark for me but then the author spun it around and something else happened... Which I'm very glad they did.
A well-written page-turnerThis book kept me captivated from start to finish.
