Wow! Insightful and Harrowing.This really engaging book is written in the style of a fifteen-year-old boy’s disconnected, (yet related), stream-of-consciousness thoughts intermingled with the insightful, well-read musings of a β€œfifty-seven-year-old” man who still feels the same isolation he started feeling as a child. This is quite a tragic story really, the key character being Jeremiah. He is outcasted at school and feels invisible since none of the other kids at school want to be his friend and the teachers don't seem to care. It doesn't stop there as Croot mixes in negligent parents as well. The story is told from the point of view of Jeremiah when he's at school and also when he's older in his 50s and he's never really gotten over being a lonely school boy. paranormal - not a romance I will start by saying I don’t read this genre so I’m probably not the best person to review it. I was told it was a romance. It’s 100 percent NOT a romance. If I rate this as a paranormal fiction (which is what I’m doing) I’d give it a 3.5. Again I don’t know how to truly rate this genre. I did like the last half of the book. The first half I was lost.
