3.5 🌟's.... maybe? I'm docking a star bc this reads like a YA novel. I typically stay clear of YA. I looked and it didn't say it was but then when I asked AI it said it was soooo.... 🤷♀️ I thought this would be a little darker. It started out cute and by "cute" I mean the whole priest and nuns dressed in black and red. The gothic description of the church. Worshiping Lucifer. I was for it. But then it kind of fell off for me bc the MC doesn't believe in Lucifer...... *crickets*.... ooook. 👀
Everything starts with Shelby arriving at Devil's Point to study in St. Lucifer school for girls. And let's say her parents aren't exactly welcoming her coming out as transgender girl. There aren't many new people in town, there aren't much stuff happening around so Shelby immediately attracts attention. Mettie doesn't have an anchor. Such a great book! It’s quick and easy to read, I finished it in an afternoon. The characters are super young but they aren’t annoying, Mettie is smart and has her petty moments but I guess all teenage girl has them… Shelby is a beautiful soul!!! Highly recommend!
